Dr. Weih will discuss how geospatial technologies have gone from backroom GIS and remote sensing users (a little history) to everyday workflows and business. Drawing from examples of work on biomass modeling, wildlife habitat, historic vegetation, and 3D forest visualization (at the University of Arkansas – Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL)), Dr. Weih will illustrate how spatial technologies let us see the whole landscape so we can obtain a better understanding of forest processes.
