Information
The Georgia
Center for Continuing Education is a full-service, residential adult-learning facility on
the campus of The University of Georgia. A modern 200-bedroom hotel, dining
services, conference rooms, auditoriums, library, and computer labs are combined in one
smoke-free facility. Hotel rooms offer hair dryers, coffeepots, irons, and ironing
boards. Some suites and smoking rooms may be available. A full-service
Business Center -- complete with computers and printers, Internet and e-mail access,
photocopying and fax services, instructional and office supplies -- is available for
nominal fees. If you require special services, facilities, or dietary considerations
to support your participation in a Georgia Center program, contact your conference
coordinator, Melanie Baer, at

Conference Registration:
Registration is limited. Complete and mail the registration form, or you may use a
fax, phone, or register online. Pre-payment is required to guarantee your
registration. Purchase orders will be accepted at the highest registration fee
listed.
Lodging: A block of rooms is being held
for your conference until 5 p.m. ET, September 19, 2000. Indicate lodging
preference on the registration form. If your choice is unavailable, the best
alternative will be confirmed. If lodging at the Georgia Center is unavailable, we
will arrange for your accommodations at a local hotel; room rates vary. A credit
card is required to make your reservation at the Georgia Center and local hotels.
Your card will be charged one night's lodging if you do not cancel by 4:00 p.m. 24 hours
prior to your arrival date. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00
am.
Transportation: All flights into Athens
connect through Charlotte, NC. Regular ground transportation is available from
Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport to the Georgia Center. A map, parking
information, and further details will be mailed to you with your conference
confirmation. Directions may also be found on our locations
page. A parking deck is located adjacent to the Center.
Program Cancellation Policies: (1)
We will gladly issue full refunds for cancellations made by 5 p.m. ET, September 26,
2000. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Substitutions are encouraged.
(2) If a program is cancelled for any reason, the Georgia Center will not be
responsible for any cancellation changes/charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies. |

Fees
Conference
The fee for this
conference is $285 for professionals and $125 for full-time undergraduate and graduate
students of any college or university. The fee includes a conference packet, copy of
the proceedings, reception, lunch, continental breakfast, and refreshment breaks.
there is a $40 discount if the registration fee is paid by check or credit card and
postmarked by September 19, 2000.
Pre-Conference
Workshops
The
fee for each pre-conference workshop is $185 which includes instructional materials,
lunch, and refreshment breaks. there is a $20 discount if the registration fee is
paid by September 19, 2000. register early to reserve your space. Limited
seating is available.
Continuing Education Credits
This conference
will provide 12 hours of Category I Continuing Forestry Education (CFE). Each
pre-conference workshop will provide 6-7 hours of Category I CFE.
Professional Ethics in Forestry
This optional
one-hour course focuses on case studies to illustrate the place of ethics in the practice
of forestry. It satisfies the biennial requirement of the Georgia State Board of
Registration for Foresters for one hour of continuing education in professional ethics.
