| New Applications for Novice End-Users: A GeoBook Library
ABSTRACT Pacific Meridian Resources developed a library of GeoBooks that describe and provide access to the data utilized in both their FIRE! Model (forest fire modeling) and the Ecosystem Management Model. This tool provides users with an overview of both GIS models in addition to other desired information pertaining to Camp Lejeune’s work in these areas. The GeoBook format has proven to be an intuitive and easy to use application, which will highlight the accomplishments of both programs. The GeoBook and the data contained within it are essentially static as compared to both the FIRE! and Ecosystem Management Models. Both of these models are complex and provide users with sophisticated tools to analyze multiple scenarios over time. The GeoBooks provide users with a highly effective method for providing access to specific information and data summaries pertaining to the models as well as Camp Lejeune’s Fire and Ecosystem Management activities.
