ABSTRACT

Vegetation monitoring at the micro and macro scales is receiving increasing attention. Contributing factors are, among others, invasive plant species, natural and human-induced disturbances, as well as environmental impacts. In general, traditional vegetation surveys are time consuming and expensive. Use of digital cameras coupled with appropriate sampling methodology offer opportunities to conduct such surveys in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
